Computer Literacy

Computer Labs

Our Wireless MacBook Lab provides students the opportunity to learn how to use Apple products and software. These integrate with the iPods and iPads used on campus. Students learn how to use Pages, Numbers, Safari, and iMovie. These laptops can be checked out and used in classrooms since our school site is Wifi ready for learning.
Our Mac Mini Computer Lab here at Wild Rose is state of the art, and it includes 34 flat screen computers installed with the most current operating system. The computers have attached flash drives for saving student work, and proper security filters for internet use. Our Computer Lab is a friendly, inviting, work area that we hope will encourage your child's interest in technology and its lessons for the future.
We utilize the following programs while in the computer lab:
  • MobyMax supports students academic success in Vocabulary, Math  and early reading skills.  This program is used as an extension of the school day for our English Learners in grades 1-3 that need the most support.
  • Waterford supports our K-3 students that are not meeting grade level standards in Language  Arts and Math
  • Scholastic Reading Index (SRI) Allows students to take reading tests after they have read a  book. This program tests students level of reading comprehension.
  • Monrovia Typing Club is a favorite web based site for the students to learn the correct way to type.
