The 3rd-grade team at Wild Rose worked together to develop a civic engagement project. This "Channel 26" news clip is an exemplary illustration of the power of PBL. The 3rd graders identified a challenge on campus, determining that their peers did not have a common understanding of the rules of the various recess activities like tetherball. They conducted surveys, analyzed data, researched solutions, and developed proposals. We are also grateful to the City of Monrovia for accepting our invitation to participate in this work. Through this project, our students learned a lot about how city government works and how it helps our community daily.
