The Wild Rose Gate Robotics Program is now in its second year, and has been met with the same enthusiasm and energy as the previous year. Students are taught how to build and program “tank-bots”, which are small, hand-sized robots made from legos.
Mrs. Elliott will lead our students in lessons that revolved around engines, gears, power, force and torque. After the lessons, students used this information in the creating of their robots.
In the past our Robotics Program sent two teams of seven to a local tournament to compete against other schools. Both teams we sent placed in the top ten. One team was given the teamwork and cooperation award, while our other team took back the second place overall trophy! Robotics has the ability to captivate and motivate our students, and we hope that this will be an ongoing program here at Wild Rose.
